    2010 - 02.22

This a Watercolor and this medium is always an adventure because of slight lack of control. I love that I can layer colors on top of each other to get different shades while maintain brilliance of them.

I’m feeling a little sad that there is only 1 week of this escapade. I am planning an Open House in the studio on Sunday the 28th and everything will be for sale. Please let me know by Saturday pm if you want me to hold on to something!

    Snow In The Valley

    2010 - 02.21

This is a view of the Valley where I live. Sometimes very early I go for a walk and there’s two very friendly Husky dogs that like to sleep down in this snowy meadow; it boggles my mind how they stay warm.

    The Colors of Switzerland

    2010 - 02.20

The colors in Switzerland in the summer are so bright! Everywhere there’s perfect little villages and happy cows. If there’s anyone there that wants some paintings, I’ll trade for a ticket and a place to put my sleeping bag… oh, and a few paintbrushes!

    Different Realities

    2010 - 02.20

I was born and raised in Europe and many of my younger years were spent living and traveling in the back of a Volvo station-wagon. I watched the world pass by out the back window, and I would imagine all sorts of stories around what I saw and draw them – this is how I entertained myself.

    Going Home

    2010 - 02.19

I didn’t intend the sky in this painting to be quite like this; it was the huge brush that I was using that zipped horizontally and then did a vertical skid that opened up my imagination. The drama created in the sky then dictated the landscape and I included my own little story that someone was going home – see it ?

    Wild Horse #2

    2010 - 02.18

I am able to render horses very easily – almost too easily and I am aware of overdoing it. I wonder if I could paint a horse in 40 strokes?

    Putting Up A Fight

    2010 - 02.18

I woke up this morning at 3am thinking about the wild horses being rounded up and my heart feels heavy. I came to the studio and this painting “happened” to me in very quickly. My Left brain wants to detail it out, but my Right brain loves the emotion of the action.

    Boris Bear

    2010 - 02.17

I’m very inspired by the Folk Art from Oaxaca, Mexico and I loved painting the blue horse “Confetti Cavaillo” so much that I decided he should have some company!

    Star of the River

    2010 - 02.16

There are many mountain trails between Switzerland and Italy (as well as the other neighboring countries) which were frequently used during WWII for people fleeing from the Nazis. Along those trails are creeks and rivers where the water flows down from the mountains and is crystal clear – very beautiful. In this painting I imagined that someone accidentally dropped a Star of David while crossing this creek …
